I have recently read an interesting obit on W.G.L.Quaite, a Cumberland Presbyterian Minister
1814 -1895. The article states he was born in Christian county, KY, Feb.15, 1814. It does not
state who his parents were. It does not mention any earlier marriage or children, only that
"during his last decade" he married Mrs. Mary Hall in Jan.1885, and in his decline she was "a
loyal and devoted wife". W.G.L Quaite is buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, near Evansville, Ind. I
am interested in learning firstly, what the initials W.G.L. stand for, and secondly, who his father
may have been, and when/if he (the father) came from Ireland or Scotland. Just trying to trace
the many branches of our Quaite line, most in Ireland, few to the states. Any info appreciated. Pat Q.
