This is a long shot. While looking for a Ole Gundersen (b. before 1825 in Norway), I got your message. The word Vang hit home. Ole Gundersen's daughter (Marit Olesdatter Berghagen, b.1837 in Norway) married Ole Amundsen, who took the name Amund Vang, named after the farm or area he was from in Norway. The Vang family initially located in Black River Falls, WI before settling in Barronett, WI. Descendants married other from Norway (Gubrandsdalen). Amand Vang's daughter was born in Gubrandsdalen and married Hans Christiansen Hanson, also born in Gudbrandsdalen.
