Do you have any information on Nathan Qualls/Quarles and his wife Lavinia? Any idea who his parents might be? I found a paragraph mentioning Nathan in the “Qualls Cousins” book, but no one seems to know how Nathan is related to any other Qualls. Here is what I know about him and his family:
Apparently, Nathan was born about 1800 in Virginia and died in about 1872 in Overton Co., TN. According to the 1830 Census, Lavinia was born about 1812 in Georgia; she died in Overton Co., TN. They had twelve known children:
1) Elizabeth, b. abt 1836;
2) Caroline, b. abt 1837;
3) Ann, b. abt 1838;
4) Frances, b. abt 1840;
5) Nancy Mae Qualls (my gg grandmother),
b. abt 1844, d. 24 July 1896 in Overton Co., TN. She married William Dillard Eldridge;
6) Sarah J., b. abt 1845;
7) Thomas, b. abt 1847;
8) Elizabeth;
9) Margarette;
10) Parilee;
11) Isom (Twin); (I believe the twins were Elizabeth’s children, possibly illegitimate)
12) Isaac (Twin).

I believe this family was living in Overton Co., TN by the time Nancy Mae was born, so the younger children were probably all born there, too. Wish I knew more, but I’ve been at a dead-end with them for a long time. If you have information on any of these people, I would love to have it! Thank you!
