hi,im also looking for info on the qualls surname my gggrandmother was martha qualls b. may 25 1808 anderson tnn. died june 4 1892 in walker co. ga. her mother and father were james qualls and elizabeth pelfrey. i have pension papers on james quarles but there is no info. on any family members and also it is very hard to read because it is very old. it does give his wifes name as elizabeth pelfrey. there is a letter that was sent to the national archrives from a daisy qualls asking for info also in the pension i cant remember the date of the letter i would have to look it up. i am curious to know if martha was of cherokee decent i was always told as a child that one of my grandmothers was full or half cherokee indian. if anyone has any info on this surname i would greatly appreciate it. and if so i would be willing to share what i have. most of what i have is on the burrows. thank you in advance. pat
