William Hawes Quarles was the s/o William Pennington & Nancy Ann (Hawes) Quarles. William Pennington was the son of Capt. Roger & Mary (Goodloe) Quarles.
William Pennington Quarles & Nancy Ann Hawes were the parents of 10 children. They moved from Virginia in 1809 to Middle TN & named their settlement "White Plans." William P. Quarles was murdered in 1814. He had been one of the original members of the Society of the Cincinnati at its founding in 1783.
