I am searching for my great grandparents BURR Qualls and his Indian wife, name unknown, and son Bird born June 22, 1872 in Tennessee. My grandfather Byrd Hamilton Gragg apparently was adopted at age 2 after his mother died. His name was changed and he was raised by Elizabeth F Gragg and her brother Isaac Franklin Gragg near Cookeville Tenn. Byrd married Eliza Jane Willett in 1896.
Is there any way to find about Tennessee adoptions in the 1870s?
