It's actually called the QUALLA Boundary and has nothing to do with the QUALLS family.
The area that now forms the QUALLA Boundary, was not surveyed until the late 19th century.

The QUALLS and AUSTIN families were early settlers in Colonial Virginia, from Europe. They are well documented in both Colonial and Federal Records.
