I'm researching QUALLS/QUARLES in East TN as well. I see a George M. QUALLS in Grainger County in 1860, age 27. Married to a "Mary". Children : Josiah and Emaline. Is this your George Monrow? My family supposedly linked to a George Qualls marriage to a Clarissa unknown. Children included: Naecy/Nancy Ann (born 1829), Mary M., Clarissa Jane. Connections to the "GEORGE" family as well with a Knox County marriage of Alvira QUALLS to Stephen George in 1830.
