I've been checking out ancestry.com for information on my family tree. My line came from Bedford County, VA, and they came from Spotsylvania County and previously from Jamestown (I found an ancestor in Jametown on the 1607 census). However, back to your question, there were a lot of Quarles's moving into Tennessee during the early 1800's (mine came in shortly after it became a state), and though I haven't found the names you are looking for in any of the stuff I've downloaded and printed out, you may want to check out ancestry.com before midnight 7/31/00. The census papers are currently free to members of any status. Good luck!
