Hi Danita I have'nt found any proof of any Indian heritage. I did read a GENFORUM from Jack C Qualls info given by Bonnie Poindexter daughter of Oliver Qualls indicate that both Austin's "another branch of my family" and Qualls lived with the Indians in eastern Tennessee on the Qualla Indian Reservation, Virginia and in North Carolina. Both families intermarried (as a Indian custom) with their own and with each other as well as with the Indians.
