Please keep posting with information on Quans or Quanns. My grandmother's family is black but she and her sisters appeared white. She was a Forman, whose mother's name was Esther (or Hetty) Quan and they lived in Burlington County New Jersey according to the 1880 - 1920 censuses. I think it's more likely that the name is Irish than Chinese and that our Asian features are from American Indians but I wouldn't be surprised by anything.
