I have a Roger Quance m. Joan Gervise 18 Aug 1863 in Thornbury - they baptized a d. Elizabeth 8 April 1870 also Thornbury a d. Joan on same day - a son William 11 July 1674 - a son Richard 7 May 1667. All these are from IGI printouts. The only other reference I have to Thornbury is a marriage in 1824.- I don't seem to have any likely leads to any of these children unfortunately. - its very close to Milton Damerel, Shebbear and Holsworthy - all of which still have a Quance population.
Hope this helps
