I am curious about what you know about the Quandts from Sherwin-Mecklenberg. My great great grandparents John and Anna Quandt also came from that area. They settled in the Detroit area. I learned from the census records that many Quandts came to Detroit and often lived with each other for short periods of time. This led me to believe that they were related. The Woodmere Cemetery in Allen Park, MI is where almost all of the Quandts from all these different familes are buried.
I have never been able to trace the Quandts in Germany. How big a family were they, how were they all related? Were they farmers, were they rich?
Where did you get the ship records? I couldn't find my Quandts in any ship records at the National Archives which made me think they came in through Canada. Would you know anything about that?
