Hi Connie,
Thank you so vern much for posting Francis Quarles Rev. War pension information. Are you related to this Francis Quarles? Did you any chance see or have his Rev. War papers where he joined? He also fought in the War of 1812 and I have the following information on that war:Francis W. Quarles Ranik: Lieutenant, Company: 111 Regiment (Parker's) Virginia Militia:Where located: Roll-Box: 170
Roll-Record: 151. Francis also fought in the Battle of King's Mountain and is listed in the book "The Overmountain Men" by Pat Alderman. There is also a John Quarles listed in the Battle of King's Mountain. It appears that Francis W. Quarles did a lot of fighting and must have been given land somewhere. The Rev. Pension papers says he first settled in Jefferson County, TN and moved to Knox County in 1823. I am searching for his wife/wives and children. It would be nice to find the grandchildren as that is what I am really looking for. Thanks, Hillra Qualls in Sparta, TN
