The only Quarles I can bring up in Rev War Images is an Abner Quarles- Continental Line from VA.

There were several Quarles families in W NC. One of my Dad's cousins married a lady whose maiden name was Quarles. I came across this record while looking for her family. Her given name was Frances.

I read an interesting story online. It told about the King's Mountain Men marching through W NC. It said some of them went back to settle there when the Indian Lands were opened for settlement.Knoxville was the nearest town of any size to the Indian areas of W NC, so there was a lot of movement back and forth across the mountain even when my Dad was a child. He passed away in Sept at 92.
