I'm sure he did. Some of these men served more than once in Rev War. I use Heritage Quest and it only brings up records with exact spelling. I searched "Quarles". Almost all early land grants in TN were for Rev War Service. Some were issued by NC before TN became a state.They may be listed in NC Archives.
