Has anyone been able to determine whether or not Sarah Ann Quarles was actually the mother of Roger Tandy's children? The general range of years given for her birth would seem to make her too young to have been the mother of at least some of his children. She also appears to have been significantly younger than Roger Tandy, perhaps an indication that she was a second wife.
Roger Tandy's daughter, Frances, who married Thomas Burrus, appears to have been born only a few years after Sarah Quarles own birth. This would cast some doubt as to the many references on the internet that Sarah Quarles was the mother of Frances Tandy.
