I have a relation Robert Quarm who came to Australia in about 1848. His daughter Emma Ann Quarm married George Griffith and they were my great great great grandparents. Robert was married to Sarah Littlejohn and had nine children Robert Edward (1827), Mary Ann (1830), Elizabeth, Edwin, Laura Jane (1839), Amelia Theresa (1841), William Littlejohn (1843) and Robert Edward (1845)They were all born on Jersey in the Channel Islands. We think that Robert was ship carpenter and I have found records that a Sarah Quarm was born in Plymouth, Devon and also a Sarah Littlejohn on the same day. It is possible that this is the same Sarah and she married Robert and moved to Jersey. Laura Amelia married a Seegmillar and moved to California and Amelia Theresa married a John Austin Niel and also moved to California. Edwin Quarm died in a shipwreck. William Littlejohn Quarm also went to California on the "Antartic" in 1862 and died in 1914 leaving some money to my relatives in Australia. This is about as much as I know so far as it is difficult to trace information in other parts of the world.
