Actually, the only difference between the 1800, 1810 and 1820 census age brackets is that they added one bracket in 1820 that is not in the two earlier censuses. It is the "between 16 an 18" male bracket. It was inserted to spot young men for militia service. However, males listed in it should ALSO be listed in the next bracket, "16 and under 26." Weird!
