Yes, have been researching African American Quarterman named Augustus, great grandfather who is mentioned in Children of Pride several times. Augustus was a slave on the Montevideo and White Oaks plantations. Am interested in finding plantation records to trace links to Africa. Found lots of information at Hinesville County Building and picture of Montevideo plantation at Midway Museum. Look forward to hearing from any of you.
