QUAY, Niagara Co, NY-Cass Co., MI 1850+

James Quay b. abt 1825 in NY (or Canada) m. Elizabeth (unknown) who was an orphan. James had several children, but his son Frank left home as a teenager; later found in Vandalia, Cass Co., MI where he married Adella EAST of Vandalia, Cass Co. 3 children: Charles Alford (Alfred) "Fred" b 1886, m. Florence ASHTON of Cass Co.- joined USMC abt 1908; Lena b. 1884 and Lola b.later in St. Joseph Co. IN.

Odd coincidence - of all the places to settle, Frank chose Cass Co, where there are many other QUAY families. It's not a name like Smith. There MUST BE a connection. Anyone have any ideas?
