Looking for connections to Samuel Qua/Quay b. Can, father of Samuel and James who are found in Niagara county, NY 1850-1880. Recently found the following in 1780, 1800, 1820 and 1830 federal census/NY/St. Lawrence/Washington counties.
1780: Robert Qua Washington county, NY

1800: Robert Qua Washington county SCH, pg 289 + John ULS, pg 290, John Jr., ULS, pg 292 +Thomas MNT pg 292.

1820: Robert, WA cty, Hebron pg 198, Robert WA cty pg 198, two John's in Hebron, pg 198-199, one John in Orange, Montgomery, two Samuels 1-WA Hebron and 1-St. Lawrence, Lisbon pg 119 (which I believe to be mine)+ two Williams 1-WA pg 199, Hebron and 1-WA Argyle pg 152 +Andrew WA Hebron pg 192 + James, St. Lawrence, Lisbon pg 152 (My ancestor)

1830: James and Samuel both in Lisbon, St. Lawrence. James with 4 sons and 2 daughters.

My grandmother told me that her grandfather came from Nova Scotia - Lunenburg, if I remember correctly.

The Nova Scotia census has been published as "Nova Scotia 1770 Census" by the Chicago Genealogy Society, with an index. If anyone has access to this census I would be appreciative of a look-up for any of these Qua people.
