Does anyone have any Quays information with a connection to Louisiana?
William (Guillermo) Quays, b. bef. 1749 (New York?) He married Sarah Smith (Esmit? of New Jersey) m. Aug. 5, 1785, Orleans Parish, LA. Sarah Quays died Oct. 17, 1811, New Orleans.

Old family stories tell of the Quays family originating in Scotland, immigrating to Nova Scotia, and eventually coming to Louisiana before 1785 where William (Guillermo) Quays married Sarah Smith. Can find nothing about them prior to the 1785 marriage indicating that William was born in New York..
