Nome Quebedeaux? in Civil War, LA

Has anyone else ever heard stories of a "Nome" Quebedeaux, son of Lessaint Q. and Francoise Adelina Garryo (Garrido).
I think it may be a nickname, since there was no one named "Nome" Quebedeaux in the Southwest Louisiana Records entries, or anywhere in other records, for that matter.

The story goes that he had to go to the Civil War in his father's (Lessaint) place.
I have narrowed down the list of Lessaint's sons who would have been old enough to serve in the Civil War to just a couple, if it is just a nickname.
I have only found 12 names of Quebedeaux men who served, 11 were in LA, 1 in TX.

Does any one else have any knowledge of this story?
