My maternal grandfather, Curtis, is a descendant of Joseph "L'Espagnol" Quebedo (or "Quevedo"). His name was gallicized to "Quebodeaux" or "Quebedeaux" (sometimes with the "x" ommited). In LA records, the name sometimes appears as "Kibodeaux". There are lots of variants, but the name is NOT related to Thibedeau (common in Nova Scotia). Joseph was probably Spanish (hence the nickname "L'Espagnol". He was born around 1700. He married Marie Antionette Beau. What do you wish to know (assuming we are talking about the same person)?
