John & Alexander Queery
In History of Bedford, Somerset & Fulton Counties, Pennnsylvania of Chicage: Waterman, Watkins & Co. 1884, 780 pgs. on p. 636 and following, In Great Cove now the present Tod township John Queery was granted land by proprietary warrant Sep 8, 1755, and the adjoiningfarm was granted to Alexander Queery on application of May 8, 1767.Does anyone have information on these two men?I suspect that they have a relationship to Lawrence Queer of Bedford/Somerst county listed in the 1790 census. This is an area settled by the Scotch and Scotch-Irish before Braddock was defeated and the Indian uprising in 1755.Is "Hans" a German diminutive of John?
