Hi,
I am doing research on my wife's family. Her great-great-grandfather, Anton Quaiser came to the US at the turn of the 19th century. He was from a village called Nedoweska. That is now part of the Czech Republic town of Dauba or Duba.It is about 25 miles north of Prague. The area was known as North Bohemia at the time, and part of the Austo-Hungarian Empire.
I have postcards from his family from 1910.They show life in Nedoweska, Dauba, North Bohemia. It is in very clear German, so I assume they were germanic verses slavic. The family there spelled the name Quaiser, but he changed it to Queiser when he arrived in the US.
They were related to the Nobl family and both in the Glass business.Does any of this sound familiar to any of you?
Best Regards,
J.R.
