Mr. and Mrs. A. E. QUICKLE are the proud parents of a 10 pound boy born Sunday morning. They have seven boys and two girls living, and if pride counts for anything, A. E. will make the remainder of the family step around and give the new youngster full sway.

QUICKLE Kills Brood Sow
Thinking he had a chicken thief corralled in his hen yard, A. E. QUICKLE, living northwest of town, quietly slipped to the scene of the disturbance early one morning last week and proceeded to kill his best brood sow. Chickens had been disappearing from the Quickle hen ranch at a rapid rate and Quickle made up his mind he would put a stop to it.
So, at that, Quickle loaded his shotgun with No. 6 bird shot and kept one ear open for the next visitor. When he heard the disturbance, he quietly and calmly went to the chicken house and as he peeped in the door, he saw Mr. Thief reaching up for an old hen. Quickle took good aim, as the unfortunate sow never made a sound after he shot her. Mr. Quickle called his wife and after a little closer investigation, discovered what he had done. But at that, he didn’t care as he had made up his mind to kill the next chicken thief that entered his hen house. Quickle invariably dislikes a chicken thief and we don’t blame him
