I am collecting the families that lived in Lehigh & Northampton Cos. also. I live in Philadelphia, and am focusing on this surname for the summer.
Yes, My Eliza was married to Edmund D. Leisenring.
I feel that I must descend from George & Mary Elizabeth Quier, and have it narrowed down that I descend from either George Jr. or Christian.
I have also been researching the Ritter connections because of my grandmother's information that a Ritter family was close to us. I have found a Mrs. Haney O. Ritter (Anna E.)living at # 125 Jefferson, who held my greatgrandmother's funeral at her home.
Let's compare notes - I am so glad to have another researcher on this surname because I have found conflicts of info. One example is daughter Mary Catharina, who is buried in "God's Acre." She is mentioned as the wife of Jesse Fusselman, but yet her grave gives her last name of Quier. Maybe she was the intended bride of Jesse and something was lost in translation?
