I am new to this website so apologies if this is old news.
My mother before she past away had traced the family name back to the island of Rathlin between the coasts of Ireland and Scotland. There is some family dispute about the Irish v Scottish heritage but the general concensus is Irish.

We have a small but widespread family in Australia spread from Tasmania in the south to Northern Queensland in the north of the country. There are several people searching here and we could provide contacts if you wish.

Keith Quigg
(Father: Victor, Brothers: Neil and John, Sisters: Anne, Joan and Lea, various nieces and nephews but of those only two boys carrying the family name)
