Grandma Rose Quigg married my grandpa Edgar Bartley Reed in Atchison Kansas, but she was born 22 Jan 1857 in Beardstown, Cass County, Ill. She was an orphan, she was raised by her father's brother Matthew who was a very well known and respected individual in Atchison Kansas. There was a rumor she was ravaged and bore a child of native american blood. Her father was John Quigg born 1824 in Ireland, and his father was William Quigg born 1800 in Derry Ireland. I can find no other record before that but I will not stop trying.I have pictures of Rose and I talked with family members who knew her. I would love to know more about William. The pictures I have are photocopied and not very good, but I will try to get my hands on the originals and repost
