Hello and THANK YOU for the response!
The information that I have on John BOLTON Quillian is as follows, quoted from the book that my Great Aunt (Winona) Thelma Quillian wrote. (page26)
The 1830 census of Habersham County, GA listed the name Clemens as follows:Clement Quillian , under 50, with 5 sons under 20."
"Note the change in the name Clemens to Clement, Clemmons, and later to Clemonds; also John BOLTON to John BELTON, AND WE FIND IN THE RECORDS OF THE NATIONAL SOCIETY OF THE DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, in Washington, D.C. the name of James BALDWIN is penned in above the name typed "John BOLTON".
Further she states:
"I will attempt to continue the Quillian History with the name in out family records:Rev John Bolton Chapel Quillian" with as much detail of the family descendants as I have been able to obtain.
Her Book -- A Branch of Quillians from Ireland through Georgia to the Texas Lineage was published by Myriad Moods, in San Antonio, TX copyright 1984 by Thelma Quillian
ISBN # 0-911843-04-6.
The book is dedicated to her husband (my great uncle) Roy Dunlap Quillian (1895-1974) and was written for the descendants of Dr. Clayton Causey Quillian (1858-1920).
Mary Elizabeth Quillian was Dr. Clayton Causey Quillian's first wife. She died in childbirth Oct 17, 1881, and the baby (William Clayton) died ten days later on Oct 27, 1881.
Mary Bartow Dunlap was Dr. Clayton Causey Quillian's second wife and MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER!
As far as help with the M.E.A. Quillian, I don't have much of an answer, except that she might be a daughter of James Quillian [of Scott County, VA] 1776 - 1849 & Martha Evans 1777-1857 who had ten children. As nearly as I can tell, this James Quillian was one of two sons of Teague Quillian IV.His brother was Teague Quillian V.
My daughter, Kathryn Archuleta is doing extensive research for a college genealogy course and she tells me she found information that traces the lineage all the way back to the early 1500's or early 1600's.
Hope that what I have has helped.I would also like to see the details of the lineage that you have discovered.
Thanks again!!
Mary Archuleta
