Mother of Sutton Quiney III's children
John Hynson in his will dated 20 Oct. 1705 mentions his children including an unborn child, but no Elizabeth. Most likely Elizabeth, the will of John's son Thomas mentions sister Elizabeth Quiney, was born after John wrote his will. John's daughter Anne was born 26 Nov. 1705 and daughter Hannah 30 Jan. 1706/7. From this I assume Elizabeth was born about 1708.
The McCloud webpage shows Sutton & Elizabeth's children born as follows: Mary abt. 1720, John abt. 1722, Thomas abt. 1724, William abt. 1726 and Sutton abt. 1730; with marriage date of about 1719 for Sutton & Elizabeth.I really doubt that Elizabeth married at age 11 and started giving birth at age 12.
"Abstracts of Inventories of the Prerogative Court of Maryland" by Vernon L. Skinner, Jr. for John Lincorne, 1728, has his next of kin as: "Ph. Holeadger (who married a daughter of the deceased), Suton Queney (who married a daughter of the deceased)."
From this I consider it possible that Sutton first married a daughter of John Lincorne (also spelled Linkhorne & even Lincoln) and she was the mother of the earlier children and he married second Elizabeth Hynson after 1728.
Does anyone have any comments or information that either acknowledges, rebuts or expands on the above?
