That is so cool!! I'm afraid I'm a typical "Ugly American" not well traveled, ignorant of my roots, but I am sure interested in knowing about them. My wife was looking on a Celtic origins web site that says Quinney is an anglicized version of Quinn and mentions a place called Tyrone, which I assume to be in Ireland.
I have always wondered if my bloodline is orginal British Isles and by that I mean were my ancestors in the area previous to the time it broke off from the European land mass, or if we're descended from one of the many countries that invaded during the early years.
My mother was born and raised in Ayr Scotland, her maiden name was McCrady, and my father's family I think, was in the Salsbury area of England. In fact, had my dad not been married before and I had been the first boy, my name would be Waldo Salsbury Quinney II. Thank God for small blessings :>)
One day before I die, I'll get over there. I'd love to walk the highlands of Scotland among other things. As I get older I feel pulled to go there. My wifes maiden name was Graham, and McCrady was a sub clan of the Grahams, so perhaps my wife was related to my mom somewhere down the line, oh my! Interestingly, on her mothers side my wife is a large portion Osage Indian. the Osage were the first tribe to surrender to the white man. I give her a lot of grief about that, meant of course in good fun. My mother in law says she's going to scalp me in my sleep one night!
It is very cool to talk to someone on the oher side of the world I could be related to somewhere down the line. I look forward to your reply.
