a few years ago, I logged onto genealogy.com, and I read a bit about where the name Quintanilla first shows up in history, I'm sure the information is still at the begining of this genealogy thread. It mentioned that there is a code of arms, and that the family had nobility, apparantly they also worked maybe as clerks for the queen. It turns out, if I remember correctly that the name first shows up in the transactions between Cristobal Colon and the Queen of Spain. I always say that my ancestors helped Christopher Columbus discover the New World. I don't know how accurate that is, but I love it!
