my Quintero's ancestors

I am a french television producer of 48 years old. My grand mother, Sarah who died at the end of the sixties had married in Lyon (France)with a local reputed physician. She was of cuban origins, her family had fled from Cuba probably for political reasons and settled in United States. One of these Quintero went to France as a dentist probably short after 1870. He finished to settle in Lyon. My grand mother was his daughter.
I have been told by my family that these Quintero were supposed to be rather rich in Cuba, even owning slaves(!).
This family during her settlement in the US was connected by marriage with Thompson family.
There is still a french Quintero branch but I have lost contact with her.
I have still some documents about that.
Would there be anybody who heard about that story?
Sincerly
Jacques Mouriquand
