Hello
Thanks for the post. We are certainly connected. It's great to finally get a bit of information on Patrick.I have only been able to find his marriage to Mary. Was not sure what happened to him.
My GGG grandparents were also John & Catherine Quirk (nee Slattery).
All of John & Catherine's children came to NSW during the 1850's.
Mary Quirk - (c1831-1911) - married Joseph Dilworth & Michael Melvyton - arrived 1853.(my GG grandparents).
Patrick (your's) arrived on the David Mciver in 1854.
Margaret (c;1840) arrived in 1857 (see below) - married Rhuebin Walker
Catherine (c:1842) arrived in 1857 (see below) married Daniel Martin.
Both Margaret & Catherine arrived in NSW together with thier Mother Catherine in 1857 on board the Matoaka.
I have lot's more information as I have been corresponding with a descandent of John Quirk's brother Peter Quirk (1798-1863) who also came to Australia.
John Quirk (was born about 1814 and died before 1850 - apparently by being crushed between a gate and a vechile).
John & Peter's parents were James & Alice Quirk (nee reid). They had 10 son's and two daughters.Of the 10 son's I only have information on four who came to Australia in the 1850's.
send me an email via "[email protected]" and we can share some information
with regards
