In my grandparents' house there was this very detailed account of the nobility titles and coat of arms of one of my ancestors Domingo de Rábago. He was born in Cantabria, Spain, and was invested the title of "Conde de Rábago" in 1774.
As far as I know, the Mexican goverment took over my family's hacienda (in the state of Guanajuato, Mex.),in the 1860's, no compensations were ever made.
