Hi Andy,
I found your posting while googling the surname Rabatin. I think my Grandfather's name was John Rabatin. He came to the US as an immagrant through Ellis Island. I don't have the family records at my home here in VA but I will check with my sister who lives in PA outside of Pittsburgh next to what was my grandparents farm. I do know that my grandfather is from a small town in Slovakia and came to the US in his late teens early 20's. He married my grandmother here in the US in NY. Her name was Julianna. They had 10 children, 6 survived to adulthood.

I do think there is a strong possiblity that my grandfather and yours were brothers.
