James Rabb served in the Revolutionary War as a member of the South Carolina Militia during 1778-1782. His service is the basis for six applications for DAR membership. In the most recent of these (DAR application 788134 by Roberta Gibbs Pafford) his wife is given as Hannah Barnett, and his nine children are listed as: Mary Rachel, married Levi Mobley William, born 1775, married Sarah McDonald Barbery, married ? Hutchinson James John, born 6 May 1781, married Renthea Glazier Jiny Robert, born 1787, married Patience Pamela Glazier Barnet In his will, dated 1806, his daughter Mary is referred to as Mary Watts He was deeded 200 acres on the Little River by William and Agnes Barnett (no date) He was granted 250 acres on Gilder's Creek of Enoree River on 31 Aug 1774. He sold this tract on 6 Oct 1785 to Joseph Woolbanks of Laurens Co. for 10 shillings.
