Weeping Water, NE

I am trying to verify a story in my family that my grandfather, Albert Jones b.1888, was visiting his uncle Benjamin Race in Weeping Water, NE when the Spanish-American War began (1898)and was sent back home to Hull, England.

I have found a Harry Race b.abt. 1845 in England and a Frederick W Race b. abt 1854, also in England who were residing in Weeping Water in 1900 per the U.S. Census. I would like to find out if there is a link from them to my family.

Benjamin Race b. 1830 Hull, England
Wife: Hannah b. abt 1832
Children (all birthdates are +/- one year:
Sarah C. 1850
Mary A. 1852
Benjamin 1854 (my grandfather's uncle)
William 1856 (Could be Frederick W for William?)
Jane 1858 (my great-grandmother)
Marmaduke 1860
Eliza 1869
Harry 1871
Hannah 1876

Thanks
