Good morning.
Just a quickie.

I too found the marriage record (on Ancestry.com, not a copy of the Original) as Mary Ann Fraser to William Race so this record could be correct.

However the death record indexes for California state that the surname of the mother of Susan Ann Race (born 1866) was Largent.

Here again we're not looking at Originals but someone's transcript.

The Largents of West Va. also are connected to the surname Frazier so I immediately jump to the possibility that Mary Ann Largent MIGHT have been married twice. First to a Frazer, second to William Race.

Would like to make it real clear that because this is brand new info to me all the above is just my first conjectured analysis and I may very well be completely wrong.

Also need to look more deeply at the little I have on the Largent/Haines tie.
May not get back with you till next week after vacation.
Randy Largent
