I don't think the pronunciation of Racicot is close to Racquet; it would be closer to Rosco. In French, spoken slowly, it's Rah-see-koh. Spoken more quickly, it would be Rahs-koh.
I checked my Jette which includes most of the earliest Quebec names, and did not find Racquet, which of course doesn't mean it was never there, just not in the book. Sorry.
