Hi everyone - since I first posted last April, I have discovered a bit more information on my grandmother's family. If anyone can provide me with more info/background on any of these names below, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
My grandmother's name was Delia Racicot. Born on May 5, 1889.
Her father's name was Treffle Racicot. Born on February 4, 1868 (or 1866 - I have found two birth records for him).
Her mother's name was Augustine Racicot (maiden name still unknown). Born April 18, 1880 (I don't think this is right - she would have been nine when my grandmother was born.)
Delia Racicot had two brothers: Napoleon (born November 10, 1887) and Elie (born September 14, 1896)
This information came from the 1901 Canadian census. At that time they were living in Amherst, Labelle, Quebec.
Treffle Racicot's parents were Norbert and Marguerite Racicot.
Norbert Racicot was a farmer, born in 1828.
Marguerite Racicot (maiden name not known yet), was born in 1827.
They had three children (at the time of this census): Armidas Racicot (born in 1858); Xavier Racicot (born in 1862); and Treffle Racicot (see above).
This information came from the 1881 Canadian census and they were living in Notre Dame de Bonsecours, Quebec at that time.
I have heard that the family also lived in Brownsburg, Quebec and Amos, Quebec. I have also heard that Treffle Racicot's wife died and he remarried (and probably had more children).
Delia Racicot married my grandfather, Honore Pomainville, on November 9, 1908 in Montebello, Quebec.
