I have an article involving Charles Racicot and a Senators daighter Victoria Thibaudeau. Does this ring a bell to any one. I can't find much of any info on this guy. The article stated he left a wife and 3 young children in canada when he ran off with the 19 year old girl. The article is as follows:

MONTREAL, April 12, 1888.—French Canadian society is much excited by the elopement ot Virginia,
the nineteen-year-old daughter of Senator Thibaudeau.
with Charles Racicot an ax-policeman and a
worthless character. The young lady, who has only
just left the Villo Marie Convent, is a brunette of
the most prepossessing description, and was a great
favorite with the younger portion of the French
Canadian society, her father being the head of the
gig dry goods house of Thibaudeau Frer** *t C.e.
and a reputed millionnaira.
She went out on Tuesday apparently to church,
but as she did not return in due time her parents
became alarmed and notified the detectives, who
traced her to the depot. There it was found that
she had taken the afternoon train for New York
in company with a man who answered the description
of Racicot. She was followed the next morning
by her father and a city detective, who found
ber alone in a hotel. Racicot having got word of
their coming and skipped, her heartbroken father
persuaded her to return with him and she arrived
home this morning greatly repentant
How she became acquainted with Racicot is a mystery.
Racicot deserted a wife and three young children, who are left here practically penniless. It is
understood this evening that Miss Thihaadaau has announced her intention into retiring into a memory Were she will try to forget her folly.
