If you have a LDS church History Center in Wausau go there and ask for some help in getting started. If not, go to the county court hose where you parents got married and look up there marriage certificate. You should find the names of your grand parents. Then try to find a marriage for your grandparents in the county they were married in. If you know the county and state where your grandfather or Gr grandfather lived in 1900 check the 1900 US census, which you may be able to get through your local library. If they are the ones who came from Germany it will give you the year in which they arrived. this may give you a start.
