In a convoluted way my husband is related to your Raffan's-his 2xgreat grandmother, Ann Wilson(b 1829 Fordyce) was a younger sister to Alexander's mother, Hannah Wilson.
My father-in-law always spoke of his mother's connection to the Raffan's of the Bognie Arms, (although nobody ever knew how as she was illegitimat & very little was known of her background) and always cited her black curly hair as being further proof! (Other Raffan descendants who know my parents agree on that feature).
Both of our families come from Forgue, and a few of the great-uncles did their bit to support local businesses!
I would be delighted to exchange information with you
