Hi George, Have you had any followup on your inquiry re your Raffan family? Raffan and Lovie are part of my family.If you want to compare notes please contact me at my e-mail address. Alexander Raffan(born 1819) m May Lovie(born 1823). They had 13 children. One was my ancestor Solomon and another was George who married widow Barbara Savieor(ms Lovie) in 1877. They had 3 children one of whom was George who married Jane Lovie. Could be a connection here.They were neighbours if not related because my Raffans came from Ban Boyndie,Banff and lived at 35 New Road in the 1881 census. These facts have been obtained from Robert Raffan who shared this in a past forum. And very much appreciated too.
