Well, I found some information for you but there are still some question marks as you will see. All of what follows is available online at the NSVital Stat site
www.novascotiagenealgy.ca
This is a free site maintained by the Nova Scotia Provincial Archives. You may need to download a viewer program which is free onsite to see the actual record. You should check out this material for yourself. There are probably more records pertaining to this family but until you verify that these are the right people, it’s pointless to go much further.

First, there is a marriage record which seems to be your Stella although the name of the Refuse she married is as you will see way off.
Colchester County Marriage Records Reg Year 1914, Book 1808, page 41 #1
January 1, 1914, Truro, by license, Church of England, Rev William Robertson
Groom: Seaforth Servilus Rafuse age 35, bachelor, fisherman, born Lunenburg, son of Ephraim and Sarah
Bride: Stella Florence Jollimore age 23, spinster, born River John , dau of George and Ellen.

I thought this might be a different Stella (stanger things have happened ) until I looked up her death certificate.
Stella Florence Rafuse died 1940 in New Glasgow, Pictou County

Reg Year 1940, Book 190, page 531
Born June 2, 1891, dau of George Jollymore, wife of John S. Rafuse
Informant was son, Colin Rafuse
(Did your Stella and John have a son Colin ??)

So the Stella who was the dau of George Jollymore and who married Seaforth Rafuse seems to be the same Stella who was the wife of John S. Rafuse. The confusion arises from John’s (or Seaforth’s ) “flexibility” over his name.

The above Colin died only a few years after his mother .
Pictou County Death Certificates, Registration Year 1948, page 4770

Colin E Rafuse died in Granton 1948 of tuberculosis
Born July 7, 1912, son of John Rafuse (born Lunenburg) and Stella Jollymore (born River John).

You may notice that Colin’s birthdate is two years before his parents were married but I suspect that is simply because his father John S. Rafuse was the informant. Wouldn’t be the first father who couldn’t remember his children’s birthdays!!

The last death certificate I looked up was for John himself. It appears that at some point after the death of his wife, John went back to Lunenburg to live at least for a short period. Perhaps he moved back so his sister could care for him after he became ill. Information as follows:

Lunenburg County Reg Year 1955, page 1347
Seaforth Rafuse, died 1955 in the Fishermans Memorail Hospital, Lunenburg after a stay of 7 hours.
Born October 4, 1874 son of Ephraim Rafuse and Sarah Eisenhauer
Widowed, fisherman,
Informant: Mrs. Delbert Swinamer, Gold River, NS. – sister

Records on the N S Vital Stat site show that Mable E. Rafuse, dau of Epharim and Sarah married a Delbert Swinamer in Lunenburg Co. in 1912. Of particular interest is that the marriage record lists Mabel’s father as Ephraim Rafuse-then as an afterthought the name “James” is squeezed in in front of the Ephraim.

If this is the right Rafuse (and the facts seem to indicate that it is) then the Marriage Record of John’s parents is also available at the above site as follows

Lunenburg County Reg Year 1870, Book 1828, page 48 #108
Ephraim Rafuse age 22, mariner, born Gold River, son of John and Hannah
Sarah Jane Eisenhauer, age 20, spinster, born Mahone Bay, dau of John and Christiana

Hope that the above adds a bit to your research. Happy Hunting
Burdette
