I don't have my research handy, but my guess is that your Ragins are descended from Lucey (b.c. 1728) & William (b.c. 1724) Ragin. They had a daughter named Elizabeth who wed a Edward Broughton. I think the Ragins came to South Carolina from Virginia, and were probably Irish, i.e. Regan or Reagan.
